Good Morning,

I attended a Zoom meeting yesterday with FR and Juana /Watkins, Vice President of Law and Policy and General Counsel, Florida Realtors®.

Juana gave a great presentation on rental and property management questions about criminal history of potential renters and screening practices.  I have included below a short video from Juana about your screening process and how to avoid possible violations.  This video is must viewing!!

I have also included below a link to an NAR document that lists do’s and don’ts for screening tenants.

Juana also discussed the particulars of a single law firm that has filed 48 lawsuits, in Florida, against property owners or property managers for this very practice.

If you are a rental property owner or a rental property manager, you must view the video and read the NAR document to avoid being the 49th lawsuit.

Thank you,

Victor
