Good Afternoon,
Please see the email I received from the National Association of Realtors(r) and the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) this weekend dealing with the importance of purchasing flood insurance for the 2019 Hurricane Season Campaign. It gives you information that you can share with your circle of influence before, during and after a flood caused by a hurricane.
"In advance of Hurricane Dorian, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has pulled together a suite of resources in flood insurance for your use and for you to pass along to your members, media and other interested parties.
Our 2019 Hurricane Season Campaign materials are designed to help educate your clients about the importance of purchasing flood insurance before the next storm hits. While the materials can be used throughout the season, please be mindful of sensitivities in your area when a hurricane is imminent or a community is recovering from a recent storm. There is a 30-day waiting period before policies become effective.
Help your clients prepare by sharing information on what to do before a flood. And after the flood, agents are often the first point of contact to begin the recovery process.
In addition, the NFIP Resource Library contains informational videos, post-disaster photography, customizable post cards and ready-to-use fact sheets to help you tell the story of flood risk and drive policy sales. We encourage you to distribute marketing resources during client meetings, on social media, in marketing emails, on company websites, and beyond.
All of these resources, including the Cost of Flooding Tool, can be found on https://agents.floodsmart.gov/
