Good Morning,
Please see the email that we received from Margy Grant, the CEO for Florida Realtors, asking MLS'S to consider temporarily disable the Open House feature in our MLS.
Please see the reason why in her email:
Most of you saw the alert sent from Florida Realtors this morning. Vice President of Public Policy Danielle Scoggins and I were contacted by the Division of Emergency Management telling us the Florida Surgeon General needed to speak with us. Danielle and I then spoke personally with the Florida Surgeon General and he conveyed very serious concerns about Realtors continuing to hold in person open houses and feels there is a risk of spreading the corona virus from asymptomatic individuals to others. He asked that we work to do everything possible to help stop the spread of this horrible disease.
To this end we recommend asking your decision makers to consider temporarily disabling the open house field in the MLS.
We appreciate your partnership.
After discussion with Sonny Shanks, President, St Augustine & St Johns County MLS, it was decided in the best interest of protecting our members and the public to temporarily disable the Open House field in the MLS until further notice.
Thank you for your support and understanding the need to take this action.
Please stay safe and practice social distancing!
Victor
